Website Building Application

February 20, 2013

Good Morning Sir,

I came to your site after completing some research on my great, great grandfather Daniel Michael Pogue who served in the 2nd Florida, Company E, The Hammock Guards.  I recently obtained a copy of a letter he wrote in 1906 to former Florida Governor and Captain in the 2nd Florida Regiment, Francis P. Fleming describing the loss of the 2nd Florida Regimental battle flag. My mother is a Pogue and I grew up hearing from my grandfather Albert Ross Pogue, Jr. that I had a relative who lost his foot carrying a flag during the civil war.  Through research and fact finding, I am 100% confident that D. M. Pogue is my grandfather and the author of the attached letter. My understanding and research concerning the 2nd Florida is in its infancy, but I thought you might find the attached interesting enough to pass along to those who may find it of interest.  (in the event, of course, that they themselves have not previously discovered it)

I grew up in Louisiana and currently reside in Kansas City.  I am 35 years old and a former Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps.  After reviewing your site and in light of my blood connection to The Hammock Guards, I am seriously entertaining volunteering.   I am interested in your thoughts and comments in those regards.

With Kindest Regards,

Brent Kliebert
